last day of sculpture..

so its the last friday of sculpture and im pretty pleased with the result iv come to.. I have ended up with the idea of jumbled thoughts which all managed to start with the action. To Tighten.

I went from tying knots in wires to material and then brown paper. Then i did it on a bigger scale with our idea sheets from the start of the discipline. Next i started writing my own thoughts out on large pieces of brown paper and jumbled them up..

going crazy????

i think sculpture is making me go a bit crazy... i have started to write down every thought that pops into my head on a large sheet of brown paper which i will then cut up and re-assemble.....  but now i just keep talking to myself in my head even when im not writing things down... i like the physical result im getting from this with the large sheets of brown paper... the mental result is just a bit crazy....
will post pics as soon as i charge my camera...

some sculpture....

i started to look at how things could be compacted so i got 2 large sheets of card and cut it all up. I then glued them all back together in a pile...

i thought it looked quite cool !!

week 2 of sculpture

so all of last weeks pieces were small but they did have areas of interest in them... my aim this week is to get BIGGER. i had made a small piece out of greaseproof paper that looked interesting.... but for about 10seconds..

After having a small tutorial with my tutors i realised that i could make it more interesting by adding some mystery to it. By taking the idea sheets from our first day and weaving and knotting these, i could make a larger piece that has peoples thoughts and ideas sprawled across it.. so far this is what iv got.......

hopefully i have the patience to keep knotting and weaving so create something even better!!

Sculpture....

So week one of sculpture is nearly over already..... iv chosen the word "to tighten" and so far iv been working with wires and material, just tying knots... not too sure where this will bring me..........

some print results..

little late for this post seeing as im now in sculpture but just thought id put up some photos of my prints....... this was a 1 slash 2 day project on clutter.... make what you want from it...!

so the first week of print is over and we're into our second one.. Im really enjoying the project we got, defining our space. By choosing my face as my space i can really have fun with it by changing it up and taking pictures.  After doin my 1st print a few times a decided i wanted to change it up a bit and took more pictures of my face with different make up on. The extravagent eye make up symbolizes my love of drama and being on stage. i can change identity and act like someone competely different to myself.
my work looks at changing your face to be someone else or represent something. More recently my work has gotten more abstract which i like much better than my first prints. so far so good!

Assessments....

so i have had my assessment and i think it could have gone better. However, i really enjoyed doing the project, and by bringing in an area of interest of mine into my work, it really helped me to make the most of the 1st semester of college :)

stop-motion

i finally got around to making my stop motion video of my post-it soundwaves! i took lots of pics of my post-its a good while ago but had them saved on someones laptop and didnt get them until yesterday si i put together my video and it has turned out a bit better than my coin stop motion!!

everyone is complaining about the wind, however i have used to my advantages and video-ed some waves near westport..... as the wind gets stronger and louder the waves get bigger.
but these arent ordinary waves....... the wind has made them sideways!!

attempt ..............

so i spent aaaaaaggess trying to do stop motion with coins......  and today i put the photos onto windows movie maker...  after putting it all together and spending annother very long time trying to make each slide almost a third of a second long, i played the movie and noticed that most of the photos are blurry...

it doesnt look as well as i had hoped because of this and also because i didnt use a tripod.... but here it is anyways.....
